Privacy Policy


This Privacy Policy applies to information collected from FPCheck users. FPCheck is a service provided by Identification International, Inc., "i3". The service delivers simple to use applicant fingerprint checks as required by different entities in the United States of America. The FPCheck service is hosted on the FPCheck.com website.

Collection of Personally Identifiable Information

We collect personally identifiable information, "PII", when you are enrolled for a new fingerprint check.

i3 never sells your PII (name, address, phone number, email address, etc). With six exceptions, i3 does not share or in any other way transmit PII to any other entities. These exceptions are:

  1. We may use your PII to contact or communicate with you. Intermediate entities such as email servers or telephone companies may have access to the PII included in these messages. We will never communicate to you in writing using your most sensitive PII (i.e. your social security number).
  2. We may use your PII to conduct the financial transaction(s) associated with usage of our service. We use your billing and financial information to facilitate payments through the FPCheck system and collect fees if applicable. PII is shared with the payment processor solely for the purpose of financial transaction processing, billing, and account maintenance.
  3. Some PII is exchanged with the application running at the fingerprint service provider. This PII is used to establish your identity or review data entered on FPCheck.com prior to scanning your fingerprints. This data is not stored on the fingerprint scanning computer but, the scanning operator reads the data to verify it.
  4. Once you have been fingerprinted, a fingerprint transaction that includes PII is sent through the appropriate channel to a defined destination. These destinations maintain their own policies for protection of your PII.
  5. The administrators of FPCheck, i3 employees, have access to the PII on a need based basis. Transactions may need to be edited, backed up or otherwise managed so as to provide the best customer service possible. We will not edit your transaction without your written approval.
  6. i3 may disclose data about you to governmental and law enforcement authorities if we are required to do so or if we think the disclosure is appropriate and you authorize these disclosures. We may also disclose data about you in connection with actual or potential lawsuits or suspected fraudulent activity (a) if we are required to do so, (b) if such disclosures may potentially mitigate our liability, or (c) to enforce our rights.

Although we currently do not have a parent company, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under common control with us (collectively, “Affiliates”), we may in the future. You hereby agree that we may share some or all of the PII of users with these Affiliates. We will require our Affiliates to comply with this Privacy Policy.

If our company or our assets are acquired by another company, that company will possess the PII collected by us.

Use of Demographic and Profile Data

In our efforts to continually improve our product and service offerings, i3 collects and analyzes demographic and profile data about our users' activity. i3 identifies and uses your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website. The IP address may be used to help identify you and gather basic information. We may occasionally ask you to complete optional online surveys. These surveys may ask you for contact information and demographic information (like ZIP Code, age or income level). We use this data to tailor your experience at our site, providing you with content we think you might be interested in and to display content according to your preferences.

We may create anonymous records from PII by excluding information (such as your name) that make the information personally identifiable to you. We may use this anonymous information to analyze usage patterns so that we may enhance our services.

Security

The security of your PII is very important to us and we are committed to protecting the information we collect. While we cannot guarantee absolute security of your personal information, i3 uses firewalls, encryption, and secure communication for all personal data we collect from you. We also employ many different security techniques to protect personal data against loss, misuse, alteration, and unauthorized access.

Change/Modify

There are two options for changing and modifying the accounts, transactions and elections you previously made on FPCheck.com. Users can email i3 at support@fpcheck.com describing your requested change. Supervisors of an FPCheck-registered organization can modify and delete some fields directly.
